Whakapapa: the heart is what we need most. This is especially true when we pass through ‘winters’ of stress, exhaustion and disillusionment. The heart is our burning bush: our inmost sanctuary where we connect with the Divine. The heart is the home of winters Angel. In the poem the Self, (winters Angel) waits for its beloved to return from a world of disenchantment & disorientation to join in the fire of Being. The last line ‘sanctuary of your heart’ is influenced by a saying from the Self; ‘my heart; just beating in there’ (14/6/13). The Self was saying to me in a tender, intimate & personal way that we share the same heart. We can both say ‘my heart.’ We can also say, because we are two, yet one, my heart is ‘your heart.’
