Perhaps be Holy Branches?

3/5/13

Whakapapa: developed from a saying of the Self: ‘Perhaps be your own holy branches’ (24/4/13). ‘Original Life’ is also from the Self. After completing the poem I read a passage by Tom Cheetham: ‘The hermanuit (or interpreter) as prophet, as artist, as soul-in-prayer, fuses the divine and human worlds together by standing on the edge of mystery, of chaos’s, and of creation by serving as a conduit between the source of all life and the world of mortals. 1) ‘Hermeneutics’ is the ‘interpretation’ of a text, or an experience, or of life itself. The word hermeneutics is derived from Hermes, the Greek God who carries messages between the gods and mortals. It is therefore the hermanuit, the individual connected to ‘God within,’ who has the potential to ‘Perhaps be your own holy branches.’
