 Whakapapa: I began writing this on Valentine’s Day after seeing a white rose in its second autumnal flush… & reflecting on the way roses in their second flush bloom once again after summer’s harsh dryness… & the way some woman do the same in their autumn years… as, often through struggle & heartache, they come to a much deeper connection with their instinctual selves than they ever had in the first flush of their youth.
